SWI DUMFRIESSHIRE FEDERATION
SHORT MAT BOWLING COMPETITION
There was a lot of fun as well as a close contest at Locharbriggs Community
Centre on Saturday 23 April when teams of three participated in the
Dumfriesshire Federation short mat bowling competition. Beginners were
welcomed and given hints as well as seeing the skill of the “experienced
hands”. Socialising and enjoying soup and filled roll for lunch added to the
experience.
Federation President, Helen Bell presented awards to the winners.
First Johnstonebridge SWI. Skip Betty Cairnie with Elaine Cairnie and Helen
Jardine.
Second Collin SWI. Skip Eileen Smith with Susan Meadows and Susan Gass.
Third Holywood SWI. Skip Jean Donohue with Isobel Moffat and Helen Bell.
Thanks were given to Andrea Houston for organising the event, to Linda
McMinn and team for the catering and to all who helped and took part in
another grand “Rural” event.
